Bed Bugs are more common than most people realize. As more people travel throughout the US and abroad, bed bugs are coming home with them and setting up shop.  You might not know that a bed bug’s favorite food source is human blood.  Protect your family and make sure you’re not sharing your beds, and your blood, with these terrible pests.
Why Are Bed Bugs Back In The News?

Bed bugs were once all but eradicated with broad-spectrum pesticides such as DDT.  This product was extremely effective in controlling many types of pests, but concerns about public health and the environment led to the removal of many pesticides like DDT.  The chemicals available today simply do not deliver an acceptable, or lasting result.

Where Did Bed Bugs Come From?

Bed bugs travel well, and are expert hitchhikers.  They commonly attach themselves to luggage and clothing.  These pests hide in beds, upholstered furniture and behind baseboards in urban hotels in America. Since they  tend to stow away and travel with humans, any place that sees a number of travelers is susceptible.

Monitor for Bed Bugs after Remediation

There are times when it is best to monitor for the presence of bed bugs such as tenants moving or after remediation. EnSec can employ an active Bed Bug monitor as part of there services to provide attractant to bed bugs to stimulate their foraging behavior and lure them out of hiding places to a monitor that will help evaluate the presence of bed bugs. Watch this video on the bed bug monitor.
